DHS officials urge lawmakers to provide resources for cyber adviser program

Department of Homeland Security officials testified before a House Homeland Security subcommittee on Tuesday that the department needs more resources to expand a cybersecurity adviser program to help small- and medium-sized businesses mitigate their cyber risks.

Andy Ozment, assistant secretary of cybersecurity and communications at DHS, told lawmakers on the House Homeland Security cybersecurity subcommittee that having a locally and regionally deployed presence is critical to getting companies to engage in voluntary cybersecurity programs.
