DHS official: DDoS attack triggered use of new cyber-response 'schema'

GAITHERSBURG, MD. Last week's distributed denial of service attack that temporarily shut down social media sites triggered use of the Department of Homeland Security's new “schema” for identifying and evaluating a cyber incident in order to determine the federal government's response, according to a DHS official.
