Debate begins on Obama’s cyber guidance for federal contractors

The Obama administration’s newly released draft guidance on improving cybersecurity for the federal acquisition process is already drawing both praise and concern from legal experts and business advocates.

The proposed guidance – released Monday at https://policy.cio.gov/ – is spurring private-sector organizations to draft formal comments to submit to the White House’s Office of Management and Budget by the Sept. 10 deadline. The administration has said it will use the open-source platform GitHub to collect the comments.
