Cyber export controls are expected to be narrowed at upcoming talks, sources say

International negotiators on technology export controls appear likely to accept a narrowing of those controls next month, sources say, a move that would hand the U.S. cybersecurity industry a partial victory after it had argued for an elimination of the definition that would trigger those restrictions.

Industry sources are reporting progress made by the U.S. government and industry stakeholders in convincing members of the so-called Wassenaar arrangement to seriously consider narrowing the technology controls, while falling short of convincing negotiators...
