Commerce Dept.'s vulnerability-disclosure effort seeks to unite researchers, vendors

The multistakeholder process on cyber vulnerability disclosure kicking off in September aims to bridge differences between vendors and researchers by developing consensus principles around the common goal of enhanced security, according a senior Department of Commerce official.

The department today formally announced that the process, managed by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, will begin with a Sept. 29 workshop at the University of California at Berkeley.
