Coast Guard drafting guide on maritime cyber systems for UN standards body

The Coast Guard is crafting a second round of international cybersecurity recommendations for maritime industrial control systems, after submitting proposed shipping-sector cyber standards to a United Nations maritime body at the end of 2015.

A Coast Guard official told Inside Cybersecurity on Monday that the service is working on a new cyber paper addressing electronic navigation, electronic and cyber propulsion, and other cyber systems with impacts to safety, security, and marine environmental protection.
