Brexit vote leaves Privacy Shield unscathed for now, EU official says

The United Kingdom's vote last week to leave the European Union will have no immediate effect on the Privacy Shield agreement that is approaching final approval next month, according to an EU official.

Until the EU is formally notified of the U.K.'s intentions to leave, and the two-year negotiations for departure are completed, the UK “will have all the benefits and obligations” of EU requirements, including Privacy Shield and recently adopted data protection rules, according to the digital counselor for...
