Verisign report finds spike in DDoS ‘attack size’

The size of distributed denial of service cyber attacks increased by 52 percent during the second quarter of 2015 from the first quarter, according to a new report from Verisign.

Verisign’s Distributed Denial of Service Trends Report, which was provided to Inside Cybersecurity prior to its release Thursday, also found that the most frequently targeted industry was the IT industry, ranging from IT services to cloud and software as a service.
