Report: Malware, compliance top concerns of health sector

Healthcare professionals say external attackers are their greatest cyber threats, with malware-infected systems, violations of health regulation and compromise of patient privacy ranking as their top concerns, according to a new KPMG report.

According to the report, released Wednesday, 65 percent of the 223 healthcare executives said external attackers were the greatest threat to data security, followed by the sharing of data with third parties, employee breaches and theft, wireless computing, and inadequate firewalls.
