House passes bills on U.S-Israel cyber collaboration

The House on Tuesday evening passed by voice vote two House Homeland Security Committee bills aimed at strengthening partnerships with Israel on cybersecurity issues and research.

The U.S.-Israel Advanced Research Partnership Act and the U.S.-Israel Cybersecurity Cooperation Enhancement Act would establish a grant program at the Department of Homeland Security to promote “cooperative” research and development between the two countries on cybersecurity. They also promote cooperative research and counterterrorism programs related to cybersecurity.
