House begins informal talks with Senate on intel bill addressing cybersecurity

Key House members are conducting talks with Senate Intelligence Committee leaders about an intelligence authorization bill that passed the House on Wednesday, which would establish several new cybersecurity efforts across the federal government.

However, the timeframe for the bill's final passage is effectively in the Senate's hands, sources say.

A House aide told Inside Cybersecurity that talks with the Senate are ongoing, but the upper chamber needs to pass its own version of the bill, most likely by unanimous consent....
